Mostly peoples don't know that medicines can be manufactured from animals. Animal by products are parts of animals that don't come from harvested meat, but they aren't still derived. Traditional medicines practices such as those dating back thousands of year in ancient China sometimes involved animals producjjts in the form of tiger bone and snake bile. Today's these products can included animals parts such as fats, glands, and connective tissues.

Medication that contain animal by product perform important role in growth, development, metabolism and reproduction.

 For instance, after insulin discovery 1921, people with diabetes treat with insuline that come fromjjjkk pork and beef. Although they are not any more animal insulins approved for use in the U.S. they are still used in some foreign countries other hormones of animals are still used in some medication today. Similarly other medications may contain inactive ingredients from animals products, they are important for production. Common animal based inactive ingredients include the following.

Glatine: 

this is a protein that often found in gel capsule and may come from animal's skin and bone.
Glycerin: it can be used as a sweatener and may come from animals fat. 

Lactose:

A type of sugar it may come from cow's milk, it sometimes used as a binder or filler in some table medications.

Stearic acid: 

Found in some tablets capsules specially controlled and release medications, it may orginate from animals fat but also come from vegetables sources.

Other medications, their purposes and sources
Omega3 ethyl ester (Lovaza) and vascepa are used to lower triglycerides and both are come from  fish oil.
Intralipid: An injectable product used for people who need intravenous (IV) nutritions. It come from chicken egg.
 propofol (diprivin): An anesthetic used to provide relaxation or sleep during surgery and other medical procedures and it also come from chicken egg.
