Essential and non Essential elements

Essential and non Essential elements

Element is made up of atom and element is a simple substance that cannot be broken into smaller parts and changed into simple substance.
Our body need many elements to perform various function in our body but not all elements are senthesized by our body some elements we have to take from other sources. According to this sence elements are devided into essential and non essential elements.

                     Essential Elements

Essential elements cannot be synthesized by our body. They must be taken from diet and other natural resources such as water,  air, soil, and also by consuming plant food. e. g. oxygen, carbon, nitrogen, hydrogen, phosphorus, sulphur. They play vital role in body metabolism.
Oxygen: As you know oxygen is need of all organisms for breathing. It also help in combustion. Life on earth would not exist without oxygen
Carbon: carbon help to keep balance in earth temperature by absorbing heat and to make food in plants and provide energy that fuel our global economy. Most of earth carbon stored in rocks and sediments.
Nitrogen: Nitrogen help in growth, absorption,  transportation and excretion. Animals do not take nitrogen directly they takes from plant source.
Hydrogen: Hydrogen help keep body to hydrate when hydrogen bind with oxygen molecules to form water and perform basic functions of life.
Phosphorus : Phosphorus help in the production of DNA and RNA and also help in growth maintainance and repairing of body tissues and cells.
Sulphur: Sulphur help to metabolism of food and protect body cells from damaging that lead to cancer.

             Non essential element

The elements that are synthesized by our body and also absorb from diet in small amount e. g. Potassium,  phosphate,  sodium, chloride,  bicarbonate , calcium.
Potassium: positive ions inside the cell and importance for muscles contraction and nerve conduction.
Phosphate: It is major component of blood plasma and energy production like ATP.
Sodium: Sodium is found in body fluid and it is also important for muscles contraction and nerve conduction.
Chloride: Chloride is also found in extracellular body fluid, help in acid basic and fluid balance and needed to produce stomach HCL( hydrochlorid).
Bicarbonate: It is important for acid basic balance.
Calcium: Component of bone and teeth, important for blood clotting and also help in cellular, muscles and nerve functions.
